I am surprised they let Eric come that far. Even if she already hadn't planed to get him underground, the surface was still very luckily to be filled with hostiles, and even at this time it was very luckily that he would be spotted and captured (or worse).
She is scared because she is not fazed by death of others. That's very late for that. And I do mean very late. And if it doesn't faze her, why was her sigh quivering? She can't be that scared of her lack of reaction. And Eric is way less fazed by death than I expected. He is, but not a lot.
Eric knew where Rochelle was before the vampires? How come?
I am surprised Smith didn't even consider Lyra could be working for Dracula, she was in a very suspicious position. It means he is very calm headed and fast thinker. I like him more and more.
Lyra's reaction when she found Jason and her mother matches what I said before (she doesn't seem to feel a lot about her), but it makes me wonder what is her real motivation.
I'm surprised to see werewolves cheering Lyra, I thought they would hate and/or despise her because of her obvious human ancestry.
When Lyra finally expressed emotions towards her mother, I was very relieved (their relation had not withered away too much) but a bit disappointed because it was not that much. She is more the kind to explode.
I don't understand how Rochelle could know for Baker, but still ignore that Lyra doesn't have friends, nor for Eric, nor even that she avoided sports at all price for fear of transforming, or even Brandon's doing.
I don't know what to think of Rochelle and Faith behavior. For Faith, her idea doesn't make sure her powers will go to a good person, just that one of a true altruist's children would have her powers and that said altruist would die. For Rochelle, her behavior was exactly what I would expect from a hero and the opposite of what I learnt to expect from her, but it does make her cease to seem so cold. From what I saw, it seems to be something like 'I already chose to die, so I expect all of my allies and friends to do the same'. It may be that, but if so I don't understand why she fled and hid for 15 years, just to die now, and in a totally useless way (she could have easily fled with them before the vampires reach them, she didn't even slow them down). Just to shock Lyra and make sure she does fight, and choose the right side? If that's so, she would seem even more heartless than before, but also more determined.
Wit the means they have and deploy, it is a wonder that the Order stayed secret for so long. That's impressive in a very different way.
I have to say, I expected half of the secret about the true inheritor. It was still good, but after all the surprises I had until now I kinda expected to be surprised again. ;p
Excellent closure/cliffhanger, by the way. Parents may have explications and Fear really didn't lose his time. I smell important changes in the general setting. (I also smell a coming back from at least one supposedly dead character)
